Precisely controlled bending

Wessobrunn-Forst, 18 May 2022 – The Schröder Group will be represented by its sales partner Josep Muntal S.L. at BIEMH from June 13 to 17, 2022. At the booth A09 in Hall 5 of the Bilbao Exhibition Center, the motorized folding machine PowerBend Professional will be exhibited.

With the PowerBend Professional, Schröder’s exclusive Spanish partner is presenting the revised new version of a highly successful folding machine at the traditional Basque trade fair for machine tools. The PowerBend Professional is designed to bend up to 3.0 mm thick steel sheets with the utmost precision over a length of 3200 mm. And this thanks to the up-and-down folding beam both upwards and downwards. The advantage: There is no longer any need to turn the sheet for counterfolds, which is a huge relief, especially with large formats. Another special feature is the suction plate stop. The plate is fixed once pneumatically and the machine can process all bends of one side fully automatically. This is controlled from the POS 3000 3D graphic control, which presents itself to the operator with a 19-inch TFT touch-screen color display on a swiveling panel.

Step-by-step radius function

The partner Josep Muntal S.L. will demonstrate a sophisticated application of the Schröder machine at the 31st BIEHM: the radius function. The sheet metal is pressed with the clamping beam against an angle formed by the bottom beam and the folding beam. This creates a slight rounding. This is now repeated as often as desired in any number of fine steps. The result is a perfectly rounded sheet that shows nothing of its step-by-step forming.
